Obituary of Darrell Lynn Washburn

Darrell Lynn Washburn, age 73, passed away on January 20, 2021, in Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Greenhill Cemetery in Davis, Okla. with The Reverend Stephen Wall officiating. Darrell was born in Talihina, Okla., on October 27, 1947, to Warren and Lina (Cunningtubby) Washburn. He was raised in Davis, Okla. and was a graduate of Davis High School. He enlisted to serve his county in the United States Army in March of 1967 and served two tours and was honorably discharged in March of 1970. After his discharge, he returned to Davis, Okla., where he worked on local farms and then became a truck driver. He married Jannell Frenchman in 1975 at Ardmore, Okla. They lived in Davis and later moved their family to Ardmore, Okla. From this marriage came six children. He drove for Milkim, Joe Brown and RMS where he retired. He married Dawn Butler in 1984 and the couple continued to live in Ardmore. Darrell always loved a good deal and would go antiquing. When given a chance he would go fishing. He was baptized as a member of Sandy Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Richard Gene Washburn and Tom Washburn, sister, Shirley Ann Washburn and daughter, Priscilla Washburn, Darrell is survived by his wife, Dawn Washburn, four daughters, Michelle Washburn, Petrina Washburn, Dina Washburn, and Denisa Washburn, all of Ardmore; one son, James Washburn, of Springer, Okla., twenty grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Tracy Washburn and Eddie Washburn. Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers will be; Rowdy Parker, Joshua Nugent, Sam Cunningtubby, Anthony Nugent, Benny Minor, and Joseph Cunningtubby.
