Maxine and Fred were the reason I moved to Ardmore. My Dad was James W. Howe and when they brought their daughter to OSD they stopped in Sooner Foods and Fred put in his application. Every Fri. when Maxine came to pick their daughter up she came in the store to see if there was an opening and every Mon. when she brought her back to school she did the same, when an opening came up in Ardmore Daddy offered Fred the job and he jumped on it. Daddy promised him if an opening ever came up in Sulphur he would give it to him. So Fred and Maxine moved to Sulphur and Eddie started work for Sooner Foods in Ardmore. It worked out well for both of us but I was very disappointed I didn't get to live in Sulphur. Being with their daughter meant the world to them.
