Sybel Lucille Trammell, entered Heaven on Monday, April 23, 2018, at the age 99 years old. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 27, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Tolbert and Rev. Jimmy May officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla.

Sybel was born on March 6, 1919, at Fobb, Oklahoma, to Arthur W. and Della C. (Dutton) McDonald. She attended school at Fobb, Oklahoma, and completed the sixth grade but was unable to finish her education due to family finances. Sybel was a hard worker all of her life beginning with working in the cotton and peanut fields at Fobb at an early age. After Lake Murray was completed, Daddy was employed  as one of the first boat patrolmen and he moved the family to the east side of the lake to  a house that  was provided for them. Shortly thereafter, a herd of small deer was brought to Lake Murray and Sybel had the job and taking care of the deer until they were able to be released onto the park, a job she truly enjoyed. Sybel later was employed the Lake Murray Store and also rented cabins to the military officers and their wives during World War II.  After the family left Lake Murray, Sybel was employed by 0. C. Yeatts Cleaners in Ardmore, where she met Joel (Jerry) Trammell. She married Jerry in 1950 and they established their home in Ardmore. Later they moved west of Ardmore and built an egg farm which Sybel operated for years. They moved back to Ardmore and Sybel was employed in the Will Rogers School Cafeteria until her retirement. Sybel was very devoted to her family and always was there to help in any way possible. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, and many drives to Lake Murray which she considered as her home. Most of all she loved her family and church family.

In December 2012, Brother Jimmy May visited Sybel at her home and at that time she prayed and received Jesus as her Savior at the age of 93, but due to a neck injury in January 2013, she was not able to be baptized until approximately a year later. It is never too late in life to know Jesus!

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, Travis and Annie McDonald and James and Rutha Dutton, brother, Glen James McDonald, niece, Jo Beth Thurman, and great nephew, Wesley Joe Thurman.

Sybel is survived by her sisters, Ozell Ralls and husband Wayne, and Laura McDonald of Ardmore, nephews, Larry Ralls and wife Ann of Seattle, Washington, Jimmy Ralls and wife Gail of Ardmore, step-daughter, Marjorie Suddath of Seattle, Washington, and several nieces and nephews and a very special school friend, Lucille Williams and her daughters, Linda Mooney and Nancy Williams of Tulsa.
