For as long as I can remember Sybel Lucille Trammel has been a part of my life. We even shared the same name.. Growing up in Fobb, OK in the 1920's family and friends shared everything. Sybel never changed from the first time we met in primary school. She was the sweetest, most giving, most compassionate, most responsible, most beautiful person I ever met. As classmates at the old Fobb school, I sometimes would be a bit mischievous. I can still hear Mr. and Mrs. Hickman saying, 'Lucille, why on earth can't you be more like Sybel?' She was perfect in every way. When my brother passed from brain cancer I was so sad. Sybel's precious mother Della insisted I come stay a week at their house and be with my best friend. Sybel and her brother Glen thought maybe a horse ride around Lake Murray would help me. I ended up sunburned beyond recognition.... Not only did Sybel comfort my broken heart, she became my nurse as well. Throughout our lives she was always there for me - we shared the good times and the bad. In the movie 'Stand By Me' there is a quote that goes, 'Do we ever have friends later on in life like the ones we had when we were 12?'... I will tell you I never had another friend like Sybel. How often do two friends get to share 90+ years together? I will miss her beyond words. To Laura, Ozell, and the rest of the family.. thank you for sharing such a priceless gift with me. My love and prayers,
Lucille Smith Williams and my daughters Linda Mooney & Nancy Williams
