Obituary of Katherine June “Kathy” Davis

Katherine June “Kathy” Davis, age 81, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024 in Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be 2:00pm, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Randy McFarland officiating. Kathy was born on June 17, 1943 in Tulsa, Okla. to Freedom Lindle Campbell and Daisy Emiline (Lewis) Campbell. She attended and graduated from Lone Grove High School with the Class of 1961. She married Vernon Arthell Davis in 1964 and from this marriage came two sons, Vernon Todd Davis and Jeffrey Scott Davis. She started her career in banking in 1965, working for First National Bank and she took a position with Exchange National Bank. In 1967, Kathy decided to focus on her children and became a homemaker. In 1989, she joined back into the workforce when she took a position with Dallas Connection, as the manager of the dress shop. Kathy went on to attend Southern Oklahoma Tech Center in business and office practice, completing her study in 1989 while still working. In 1992, she started a new venture in nursing. Kathy then attended Southern Oklahoma Tech Center for medical assisting and certified medical assisting, receiving her certification in 1995. Kathy went to work for Dr. Turrentines office for many years until she retired. She was passionate about her nursing and served on advisory boards for Donna Farr and Junia Shirley at SOTC. Kathy was involved in her children’s education and worked in Parents Teacher Association and served as President, Vice-President, and Corresponding Secretary from 1973 until 1980. She was devoted to her community and worked in Hal-Wary House for the mentally challenged and handicapped in 1968. She was a devoted Christian who loved to work with the singles outreach ministry at Crystalrock Cathedral and participated in the activities from 1994 until 1995. In her spare time, she liked going on walks, participating in water sports and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents. Kathy is survived by Vernon Todd Davis, and wife, Melanie, of Ardmore, Okla. and Jeffrey Scott Davis and wife, Debbie, of Ardmore, Okla., and, grandson, Josh Davis of Dickson, Okla., two granddaughters, Nicole Davis, Natalee Davis, both of Ardmore, and four great-grandchildren; Alisia Davis, Izahia Davis, Rainlee Jade Davis and Colt Davis, and one on the way, Jaxson Scott Muse.
