Obituary of Stella Lucille Ross

Stella Lucille Ross, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 12, 2024 in the Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Stella was born on October 26, 1946, to Lee Clark and Lois Lucille McCraw in Independence, La. She attended and graduated from Alcee’ Fortier High School. She went on to attend Murray State College and majored in nursing. She married Bob Ross on August 13, 1976 in Magee, Mississippi. She started working for Southern Bell and when she moved to Ardmore continued working for the phone company through the name changes from Southwestern Bell to AT&T and retired in 1995. She then went to work for 1800Flowers to occupy her time and worked for three years until they closed in 2008. She enjoyed working in her yard and was very particular about its care. Stella was always busy crocheting and watching her shows. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob Ross, three brothers and three sisters, and one granddaughter, Hannah Davis. Stella is survived by her children: David W Ross, Henry Davis III, Henry Davis IV, Matthew Roe and wife Angela, Laura DeBord, Karen Gurene, Martha Jones, and Patricia Daw. 20 grandchildren those living in Ardmore: Kyleigh Roe, Maycie Roe, Austin Roe, Alex DeBord, Paetyn Davis, Marley Davis, and Rozalynn Davis. 34 great grandchildren, and one Great-great-grandchild, Sammi Barlow. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, November 11, 2024, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
