Laverna “June” Riley, age 86, passed away with her children at her bedside, on October 19, 2024 in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 26, 2024, In The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Gary Gunsolus officiating. Interment to follow in Lone Grove Cemetery, Lone Grove, Okla.

June was born in Eakly, Okla. on November 18, 1937, to Willis McEntire and Thelma (Maxey) McEntire. The family moved to Whittier, Calf., where she attended and graduated from Cal High. June married Doyle Winford Riley on August 6, 1955, in her senior year and she graduated in 1956. June was a homemaker for most of her life and she moved to Ardmore, Okla. in July of 1969.

She and Doyle loved to sing together and would be called to sing at churches in the area. June will be remembered for her cooking and keeping an immaculate home. She enjoyed spending time outside in her garden. Spending time with her family was important to June and she always wanting to know what her grandchildren’s day to day activities was.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

June is survived by daughters: Brenda Shelton and husband Donnie, of Iowa Park TX, and Patricia Howard and husband, Dickie Charles, of Lone Grove, Okla., and son Michael Riley and wife Anita, of Era, TX. Four grandchildren: Dr. Christen Shelton, Steven Tudor JD., and wife Alissa, Marli Riley, and Randy Riley. Three great grandchildren: Addison Tudor, Sovie Tudor and Lexi Davis. Two step-granddaughters and their husbands, five step-great-grandchildren and one Step-great-great-grandson, brother Leland Doyle McEntire and wife, Betty of Springfield, Missouri, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Casket bearers will be; Michael Riley, Dickie Charles Howard, Donnie Shelton, Dr. Christen Shelton, Steven Tudor J.D. and Jeff McEntire.
