Obituary of Kip Brannon Ramsey

Kip Brannon Ramsey, age 72, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Ardmore, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Pastor Devan Johnson officiating. Kip was born in Ardmore, Okla. on May 13, 1952 to Don Marcus Ramsey and Mildred (Holbrook) Ramsey. Kip attended and graduated from Dickson High School with the class of 1970. He married Denisa Willard on June 15, 1970, in Gainesville, Texas. Kip enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard in 1972, where he served his country and received his honorary discharge in 1978. Kip started his career in autobody at the age of 16, doing repair for Vick Colman. He then took a position with Big Chief Roofing and later at Uniroyal. Kip opened Kips Body Shop where he ran his shop for 10 years. His hobbies included fishing, making knives, and shooting his guns. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Marcus Ramsey, mother, Mildred “Mitt” (Holbrook) Ramsey Herndon, his step-father, Jack Herndon, granddaughter, Cierra Renea Ramsey, brother, Ronnie Vanoy Ramsey, sisters-in-law, Janet (Day) Ramsey and Ginger Ramsey. Kip is survived by his wife of 54 years, Denisa Ramsey, of the home, daughter, Janette Ramsey and husband, Chris, grandsons: Brannon Ramsey and his fiancé, Alejandra Garcia, Tristen Ramsey, Adam Ramsey and granddaughter, Cassie Hightower and husband John. Great-grandchildren; Brooklyn McKenzie, Trey Hightower and Emily Hightower. Sister-in-law, Teresa Rickets and her family, brother, Milton Marcus Ramsey and his wife Kim, nieces, Leah Lacy, and Amy Ramsey, and Rachel Martin, nephew, Jason Rapier and a host of family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Ramsey, Adam Ramsey, Brannon Ramsey, Tristen Ramsey, Mark Lauricella and Jayden Yanez. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
