Obituary of Kenneth James Toles

Kenneth James Toles, age 61, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 8, 2024, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with the Reverend Eugene Bellard officiating. Interment to follow at Dunbar Cemetery, Burneyville, Okla.
Kenneth was born at Ardmore, Okla., on June 12, 1963, to the Reverend Elmer Junior Toles and Ella B. (Willis) Toles. Raised in the Dunbar Community, he loved to play sports, riding and racing his mini-bike, and getting into mischief with his brother, Johnny. Kenneth attended school in Turner, Okla., and graduated from Turner High School with the Class of 1981. He worked at the cookie factory in Marietta, Okla., at Long John Silvers for a time, and later at Big Lots. Kenneth was family oriented and made sure he was available to attend whatever sporting events the children had, making memories with his family when he could. Kenneth loved to go to the Rodeo and would never miss the bull fights in Ardmore. He was a member of The Lord’s Church in Ardmore and was a big OU, softball and basketball fan, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Kenneth loved to cook and his pecan pies and cheese cakes were the center of family gatherings. Most people that met Kenneth liked him because of his unconditional love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Johnny Toles, and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Stacy (Palmer) Toles, of the home in Ardmore. Children: Raymont Willis and wife, LeeAnn, Macy Battles, Alexus Palmer and life partner, Bryan Lawson Sr., and Kenya Palmer and life partner, Miles Davis. Grandchildren: Jackson Battles, DeAndre’ Battles, Myah Martinez, LaRayah Willis, Josiah Hampton, Ari’ Ella Hampton, Korbin Howard, and Leilani Bourke. Three sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Michael Mansfield of Oklahoma City, Okla., Anita and Anthony Johnson of Marietta, Okla., and Cynthia Toles of Midwest City, Okla., and a host of family and friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be Johnathan Higginbotham, Warren Washburn, Bryan Lawson, Mark Joe, Anthony Brown, Chenoah Joe, Steve Scott, and Darion Hampton. Honorary casket bearers will be Mike Mansfield and Donald Moore.
A visitation will be held Wednesday evening, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, August 7, 2024, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home of Ardmore. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toles Family Memorial Fund, C/O Griffin~Hillcrest, PO Box 2475, Ardmore, OK 73402.
