David Henry “Dave” Potter, 75, passed away on June 16, 2024 in McKinney, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church of Ardmore, Oklahoma, with Pastor Donny Custar officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park of Ardmore.

Dave was born on September 11, 1948, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Henry Potter and Eva (Bias) Potter. He attended and graduated from Elmore City Schools. Dave enlisted in the United States Army in Oakland, California, on March 6, 1967. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged on October 15, 1969. He married Miss Cynthia “Cindy” Brimager on June 11, 1977, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dave then started his career with Southwestern Bell as a Communications Tech in 1970. He transferred to Ardmore in 1978 and retired in 2003. Dave was always good with his hands. He built the home his family lived in and was a master woodworker building furniture. He was an avid reader of westerns, military themed, mysteries, and patriotic biography books. Dave enjoyed crossword puzzles, going to the lake, camping, and all outdoor sports, including fishing, hunting, and boating. He was a huge Nascar fan and enjoyed going whenever he could. He was an avid OSU fan, and would say he was an OSU fan and a fan of anyone that played OU.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dave is survived by his wife, Cynthia, children, Jason and wife, Stephanie, Steven and fiancé, Ashley, grandchildren, Jaxon, Micah, Matilyn, Maelyn, and sister-in-law, Carolyn, cousins, Don and Carol.
