Obituary of Carolyn Lee (Davis) Love

Carolyn Lee (Davis) Love, age 80, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, in Thackerville, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Okla., with The Reverend Walt Spradling officiating. Carolyn was born in Richmond, California, on February 25, 1944, to Vernon Arthell Davis, Sr., and Marjorie Marie (Dill) Davis. The family moved to Ardmore when she was a child and Carolyn attended and graduated from Dickson High School in the Class of 1962. While in school, she trained to be a beautician. After graduation, she worked as a beauty operator. Carolyn married Robert Love on February 1, 1964. The couple moved to Texas in 1965. The family returned to Ardmore in 1970, because Carolyn wanted her children to attend Dickson Schools. She worked for a short time for Uniroyal while she attended school to become a realtor. She worked for Sooner Realty for several years where she was very successful and received many accolades and remained there until they moved to Texas in 1985. In 1990, they returned to Oklahoma and lived in Thackerville. Carolyn devoted herself to her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed being in the outdoors and loved motorcycle riding, hunting, and fishing. She and Robert travelled to Colorado to go hunting and to ride horses. After her health required her to slow down, the couple enjoyed going fishing in the Red River. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Vernon Davis, and sisters: Betty Jean Rose, Shirley Ann Flowers, and Marilyn Lee Ellis. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Robert Love, son, Chad Love of Denison Texas, and daughter, Kelly Sarrett and husband, Rex, of Melissa, Texas. Five grandchildren: Caroline Love, Jack Love, Corey Smith, Carson Sarrett, and Camden Sarrett. There will be a family night held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home of Ardmore. Condolences may be left at www.griffinhillcrest.com.
