Edwin Gale Thompson, age 76, passed away on March 8, 2024, in Pauls Valley, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Hickory Cemetery with Reverend Wayne Harjo Officiating.

Edwin was born in Ardmore Okla. on July 1, 1947, to Milton Nathan Thompson Sr. and Louella (Farve) Thompson. He attended and graduated from Plainview Schools. He took a job with the Coca-Cola Bottling Company here in Ardmore, working there for many years until it was closed. Edwin then went to work for the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company until he took a position with the Chickasaw Casino in security and he worked there until he retired. Edwin loved playing softball until he could no longer participate. Being around family was his joy in life and he will be remembered for producing laughter from anyone he could.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Shirley Thompson, brother, Milton Nathan Thompson Jr., three sisters, Corena Bob, Susie Thompson, and Verna Johnson, sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Thompson, two nephews, Terry Thompson and Ronald Sampson, great-nephew, Damon Sampson, and one niece, Vicky Harris.

Edwin is survived by his step-son, Jay Hershel, and Ronnie Sampson and wife, Fernie, who he considered as a brother, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Coby Lewis, Curtis Ned, Warren Sampson, Nathan Wallace, and Lesley “Butch” Sampson.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
