Obituary of Phillip Wright Jr.

Phillip Wright Jr., age 65, passed away on February 24, 2024, in Madill, Oklahoma. Service to honor Phillip will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1610 C St SE, Ardmore, OK 73401. He was born on March 13, 1958, in Monroe, Louisiana. Phillip was known for his kind, generous, funny, creative, and loving nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was baptized at Mt Zion Baptist Church at the tender age of 7 and remained a member. Phillip attended Ardmore High School, graduating in the class of 1977. Phillip is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Johnson; daughters Shylonda Wright, Kayla Lanee Jones, Tori Shanee Jones, and Philicia Chantelle Jones. Siblings; Cedric Wright, Debra Ann White, Nawana Bourgeois, Jesse Johnson, Terry Johnson, Yolanda Harris, and Anthony Johnson. He is also survived by his stepmother, Doris Myles; bonus siblings Wardell Williamson, Jr., Sheila Major, Renee Moore, Buddy Moore, O'Sante Moore, and Tooney Moore. Phillip leaves to cherish grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and host of loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Philip Wright Sr., brothers Michael Wright and Anthony Wright, sister Teresa Johnson, and stepmother Margaret Moore. Phillip's special friend, Debra Cohee, and all those who knew him, are invited to attend the service to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
