Patricia Ann (Redden) Pennington, age 81, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, at Galveston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, October 26, 2023, Church of Christ on Merrick Drive, Ardmore, Okla., with Minister Willie Sanchez officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore. Services under the direction of Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore. Patricia was born on January 11, 1942, to Richard Ray Redden and Ada Evorie (Bateman) Redden at Ardmore, Oklahoma. She attended Ardmore Schools. Patricia worked as the manager of the Wal-Mart Shoe Department when that was still a thing ;-). She worked multiple jobs, sometimes two, and included working at Western Auto and Babcocks. She worked as a longtime Computer Assistant Teacher in the Lower Elementary at Dickson Public Schools of Dickson, Okla., and retired from there in 2004. Patricia married Frank Lynn Pennington on June 26, 1987, at Ardmore, Okla. She was a passionate traveler. She and Frank took RV trips all over the United States and they took a big summer-long trip to Europe. The couple went on an Alaskan cruise and Pat loved Caribbean Cruises and had future trips and cruises planned. Patricia was a “Motorcycle Mama” and loved riding. She was the family protector with overflowing love for all and it seemed that every conversation with her somehow always turned to Jesus. Thanksgiving was very special with family occupying a few floors of condos at Tanglewood Resort. Patricia was the nucleus of all family gatherings on Christmas and on the Fourth of July. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, of 30 years, daughter, Sandra Thach, brother, Richard Redden, and sister, Glada Day. Patricia is survived by two daughters: Coy Jones and husband, David, and Cindy Jones, all of Lone Grove, Okla., and two sons: David Wilson and wife, Trini, of Garland, Texas, and Tim Hunt and wife, Mendy, of Lone Grove. Son-in-law, Glen Thach, of Muskogee, Okla., step-children: Ryan Pennington and Angie Pennington. Grandchildren: Patrick Jones and wife, Rachel, Chris Jones and wife, Holly, Kimberly Schreibvogel and husband, Dustin, Cody Jones and wife, Kaylyn, Jennifer Stoker and husband, Andrew, Matthew Jones and wife, Paige, Brandon Thach and wife, Elisha, Tera Bynum and husband, Malcolm, Seth Thach, Marissa Hunt, MacKenzie Hunt, Micah Hunt, Nicholas Pennington, and Elliot Pennington. Great-grandchildren: Adam, Addison, Marshall, Avery, Ethan, Jordan, Jovi, Adler, Tanner, Riley, Willam, Joshua, Brittany, Lukas, Charli, Gracie, Keaton, Easton, Grayson, Jackson, Griffin, and Sterling. Sisters: Nell Haynes and husband, Ken, and Marsha Thomas and husband, Dan. Brother, Randy Redden and wife, Janis. Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. Serving as casket bearers will be Patrick Jones, Chris Jones, Cody Jones, Matthew Jones, Brandon Thach, Micah Hunt, Dustin Schreibvogel, and Andrew Stoker. Honorary casket bearers will be Patricia’s great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, October 25, 2023, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore.
