Carol Ann (Mize) Vaughn, age 78, passed away on October 15, 2023, in Ardmore, Okla. The family will have a gathering and visitation on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home. Cremation with care to follow under the direction of Griffin ~ Hillcrest Crematory. Carol was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on July 16, 1945, to Roy Hollis “Jack” Mize and Mary Elizabeth “Thelma” (Calloway) Mize. Carol attended and graduated from Ardmore High School. She married Joe Genn on October 8, 1965 in Springer, Okla. and from this marriage two daughters were born, Melinda Ann and Leslie. Carol worked at Seven-Day Adventist Hospital from November of 1970 until June of 1972. She then went on to be a cook at Ardmore Middle School Cafeteria in the 1980’s. On April 13, 1982, she and Joe got divorced. In 1986, she married Robert Edwin Vaughn in Ardmore, Okla. Carol was a member of Crystal Rock in Ardmore. She enjoyed reading books. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Vaughn, two brothers, Billy Ray Mize and Jackie Wilma Mize, daughter, Leslie Rohrer and sisters, Wanda Lou Brown, and Peggy Jo Davis. Carol is survived by her five children; Melinda Ann Jordan, Karen Davis and husband Wesly, Rebecca Cruz, and husband, Severo, Jerry Vaughn, and wife, Deanna, and Frances Manning, and husband, Danny, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
