Obituary of Linda Lee Houldson

Linda Lee (Barker) Houldson, age 77, passed away on August 15, 2023, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 19, 2023, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Pastor Donny Custar officiating. Services will conclude in the chapel. Private interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Linda was born on October 29, 1945, to R.E and Veda (Richie) Barker in Graham, Texas. The family moved to Ardmore, Okla. and she graduated from Ardmore High School. She married Allen Edward Holt Jr. in 1963 in Ardmore, Okla. The couple moved to Garland, TX and from this union came their son, Michael. She was a homemaker caring for her family. In 1981, that marriage ended, and she moved back to Ardmore to be close to her family. Linda went to work for K-Mart as a stocker and then took a position with Ward S. Merick at the energy center as a map clerk, where she worked for eight years. Linda attended truck driving school in Lancaster, Texas, and she began her career as a truck driver, driving long haul for a time and then for Joe Brown trucking. While working there she met and married Frank Houldson on January 23, 2006, in Durango, Co. She then transferred to Andrews Transport where Frank worked. She left the trucking business to work for Wal-Mart as a night stocker, where she retired. Linda loved to do oil paintings, wet on wet was her favorite art medium, and caring for her horses. When given a chance, she enjoyed riding on the back of her son’s motorcycle. Linda also enjoyed quilting and collecting all forms of chickens and roosters. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Frank Houldson. Linda is survived by her two sons, Mike Holt and William F. Houldson II, two daughters: Tonilynn Armlius and husband, Terry, Tracie Lane, and husband Johnny, twenty-one grandchildren; Michael Holt II, Chrystie Phillips, Erik Turnbull, Kandice Wallis, Steven Wallis, Chad Armalius, Joseph Geter, Jessinea Atkins, Holly Blankenship, Amanda Geter, Miranda Houldson, William Houldson III, Marissa Houldson, Matthew Armalius, D’angelo Wilkerson, Jeremy McEwen, Kaitlyn McEwen, Daniel McEwen, Sailah McEwen, Cooper Lawrence, and Dakota Lawrence, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
