Shirley Mae Campbell Obituary

Shirley Mae Campbell, age 88, passed away on June 26, 2023, in Flower Mound, Texas. Chapel limited services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 1, 2023, in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home with private interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.


Shirley was born in Cairo, Illinois on September 8, 1934, to James Austin Lasley and Rosie Carris (Taylor) Lasley. She lived in St. Louis, MO and later in Festus, MO, where she graduated high school at the early age of 16. Shirley married Robert “Bob” E. Fast on March 31, 1951 at Festus, Mo. and she followed Bob’s military career and the couple settled in Ardmore, Okla. She opened Shirley’s Gifts in the 1980’s where she loved visiting with all her customers. She operated it until it closed in 1998. Her husband passed on March 21, 1999, in Ardmore, Okla. She married Victor Campbell in 2001 and the couple remained in Ardmore until moving to Texas in 2014 to be closer to their family. Victor passed a short time after on July 22, 2014.


Shirley was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1952, where she was very active in the church. She was very active in the Jaycee Jaynes. When given the time, she loved to cook for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, sister, Verla Rose, brother, James Kenneth, and sister, Patricia.


Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sherry and husband, David, step-daughter, Pamela, grandchildren; Dane, Kayla and husband, Merl, Zachary, Matthew, Sunnett, Christopher and wife, Verena and two great-grandchildren; Keegan, and Zayne.


Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren.


Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, June 30, 2023, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
