Sharon Kay (Nievar) Groomer, age 74, passed away on February 2, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, February 11, 2023 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Bishop Chris Riley Officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla.

Sharon was born on November 12, 1948, to Lewis F. Nievar and Laurine Maryline (Jack) Nievar, in Ardmore, Okla. She attended and graduated from Dickson Schools with the class of 1967. She married Bobby Gene Groomer on August 12, 1967, in Ardmore, Okla. After their marriage, she was a dedicated homemaker as the couple moved around the United States, following Bobby through his military career. Sharon alongside her husband operated a CB Radio repair shop and opened Groomer Portrait Studios and operated it for close to 30 years. She enjoyed going square dancing, sewing and patching clothes, gardening, and picking up pecans. Sharon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved attending her church, leading church music and running the nursery.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Crystal Day, son, Robert Aaron Groomer, and four grandchildren: Skylar Limpy and husband, Billy, Scott Smith and wife, Natalie, Destiny Peña and husband, Nick, and Kaylee Day, and four great-grandchildren; Harry, Layla, Julian, and Kai-Namid. Two sisters: Rebecca Layous and Leanna Nievar, and one brother, Billy Nievar.

Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2023, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
