Kenneth Ray Stewart, age 79, passed away on March 18, 2016, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church of Lone Grove, Okla., with Pastor David Gardner officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla.
Kenneth was born on November 28, 1936, in Springer, Okla., to Richard James Stewart and Amie Odell (Royal) Stewart. He was a graduate of Hinton High School Class of 1955. Kenneth married Miss Donna Mae Rachel on November 30, 1957. He worked at Robinson Steel in Oklahoma City and later moved back to Ardmore in 1964. In 1971, he opened Ken’s Furniture on Main and Caddo in Ardmore and Town and Country Furniture. He opened Max Minute Mart and then went to work for H. L. Morris Furniture as a floor salesman. In 1977, he worked as a car salesman at Billingsley Ford and retired in 2002. Kenneth could be seen at any sporting event that had to do with his grandkids. He enjoyed supporting the University of Oklahoma sporting teams. In his spare time, he would be out in his yard and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Donna Stewart, five brothers: John, James, Doyal, Darrell, and Charles, three sisters: Joyce, Dovie, and Judy, and great-grandson, Kylar Ray Smith.
Kenneth is survived by daughter, Rhonda Stewart, son, Marlon Stewart, and wife, Susan, and daughter, Wendy Johnson, and husband, Brandon, all of Lone Grove, Okla. Ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Brothers: Lonnie, and wife, Brenda, of Lone Grove, and Carson and wife, Carolyn, of Binger, Okla. Sisters-in-law: Minalle Stewart of Weatherford, Okla., and Jean Stewart of Patterson, Calf., and brother in-law, Ross Rachel, and wife, Sharon, of Bridgeport, Okla.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shannon Houchin, Jeff Houchin, Matthew Stewart, Ricky Stewart, Joe Gills, and Anthony Brown. Honorary bearers will be the grandsons, great-grandsons, and employees of Billingsley Ford.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, March 21, 2016, at Griffin~Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla.
