Obituary of Earnsby “Slick” McGee, Jr.

Earnsby “Slick” McGee, Jr., age 75, passed away on August 12, 2022, in Fredrick, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 19, 2022, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ardmore. Interment to follow in Jehovah Cemetery. Slick was born on July 23rd 1947 in Milo, Okla. to the late Earnsby Sr. and Effie Jackson-McGee. Slick attended the Central School System in Milo, Okla. He was a Baptist. Prior to retiring from Southwest Rural Electric in Tipton, Okla., he worked various jobs while living in Tillman County. In his spare time his passion was caring for Greyhound dogs and hunting every season. He met and married his wife Carolyn Haley in 1993. They were united in marriage in Wilbarger County, Texas. Slick is proceeded in death by hi parents Earnsby Sr. and Effie McGee. Sisters Eddie Bell Pickens, Earnie Mae Wright, Dora Lee White, Modean Mims. Brothers Eastman McGee, Eddie Lee McGee, Cornelious McGee and Eula Ray McGee and one grandchild. Slick is survived by his wife of the home of 29 years Carolyn McGee. His children, Daughters- Virginia Pelton and spouse Chris Ardmore, Okla.; Audra McGee Ardmore, Okla.; Dolly James and spouse Glen Graham, Okla.; Wanda Rolison Tulsa, Okla.; Erika McGee Wayne, Okla.; Takisha Sandifer Springer, Okla.; Alicia Adams Ardmore, Okla.; Sons-Earnsby the 3rd McGee (Wookie) Ardmore, Okla.; Kent Wright and spouse Kim Plainview, Okla.; Eric Agers Ardmore, Okla.; Lavoy Agers Ardmore, Okla.; Craig Kirk Tulsa, Okla.; Michael Haley Gainesville, Texas; David Sandifer and spouse Alexandria San Antonia, Texas; Maurice Walton and spouse Melissa Frederick, Okla.; Jonas Walton Ardmore, Okla.. Sisters- Lucy Anderson Ardmore, Okla.; Alvis Knight Ardmore, Okla.; Claudette Anderson Springer, Okla.; Ola Bell Abram Midwest City, Okla.; Barbara Ann Anderson Woodford, Okla., 37 Grandchildren and 54 Great-Grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and team of hunting buddies that he loved as brothers as well as former co-workers at SWRE. Slick enjoyed spending time with his family that included sister in laws Marla Jackson Ardmore, Okla.; Anita McGee Ardmore, Okla., Priscilla Haley Ardmore, Okla., Carmen Newberry Denton, Texas, and Heidi Harbey, of Moore, Okla. Brother in laws Carl and spouse Anna Denton; Texas, Tyrone Gainesville, Texas; Cecil Jackson Ardmore, Okla. and Richard Jackson Ardmore, Okla. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Griffin~Hillcrest.
