Obituary of Hulean C. (Gooden) Hoskins

Hulean C. (Gooden) Hoskins, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, August 18, 2022 in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Minister Albert Rice officiating. Interment to follow at Dunbar Cemetery in Burneyville, Okla. Hulean was born on April 11, 1939, to Simon D. Gooden and Helen B. (Nelson) Gooden, in Ardmore, Okla. She attended Ardmore, Dunbar and Douglas Schools and went on to attend Junior College in Tulsa, where she received her Associates Degree. After graduation, Hulean started a career in Nursing. She attended East Main Church of Christ. She was the Treasurer for Ladies Bible Study and worked in the church wherever needed. Hulean was a volunteer for Legal Aid, HFV Wilson Center and the Foster Grandparents Program. She loved sewing and making fruit pies. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, David T. Carr, Sr., in 2021, second husband, Johnathon, in 1995, one brother, Simon Gooden Jr. and two sisters, Helen Washington and Joyce Allen. Hulean is survived by four Sons, David T. Carr and wife, Stacy, Michael C. Carr and wife, Donna, Robert D. Knight-Carr and Husband Glen, Terry E. Carr and Wife Elaine, Nine Grandchildren, Renada Carr, Ashlee Carr, Shane Williams, Alishia McInturff and husband Nick, Tyrell Carr, Robert Gordon and wife Angela, Ellysia Johnson, Shaunna Johnson and Renee Bloomer, twenty-one, great-grandchildren, two sisters: Loretha (Gordon) Patterson and husband Johnnie, and Sammie Johnson, special niece Elaine Checotah; special neighbors, the Malone Family, special teacher, Ms. Kelly Allen and a host of nieces nephews and friends. Serving as casket bearers will be; BJ Washington, Allen Gordon, Stewart Gordon, Kevin Franklin, Ken Gooden, and Robert Gordon. Honorary casket bearers; Wilbon Franklin, William Houston, and Danny Gordon Sr. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home.
