Virginia Sue (Painter) Simpson, age 83, passed away on July 11, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Okla. Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Friday, July 15, 2022, at IOOF cemetery in Norman, Okla. with Pastor Randal Richards officiating. Virginia was born on August 4, 1938, to Louis Gibson Painter and Vergie Irene (Lyles) Johnson in Kiowa, Okla. Virginia married Doug Simpson on November 17, 1987. She was a caretaker for many years, specializing in working with individuals with special needs. Virginia was lovingly known by her friends as Margaret. She was a member of Maranatha Freewill Baptist Church. She loved arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Doug Simpson, daughters; Kay Lynn DeLisle, Susan Eloise DeLisle, Cynthia Simpson, sons; Joe Simpson, Tommy Simpson, grandson, Nicklas DeLisle, sister, Bonnie Carey and brother, Ronald Painter. Virginia is survived by son, Gerry DeLisle and wife, Pam, granddaughter, Candace Moses, great-grands, Shannon, Ashley and Jackson, sister, Phyllis Thomas, best friends; Rita Cope and husband, Dennis, and Darren Cope, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, from 6:00pm until 7:00pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.griffinhillcrest.com.
