Obituary of Peggy Lollis (Landt) Copeland

Peggy Lollis (Landt) Copeland, age 79, passed away on January 31, 2022, in Ardmore, Okla. after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Friday, February 4, 2022, at Northwest Baptist Church of Ardmore with Pastor Becky Jackson officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla. Peggy Joan Copeland was born on June 28, 1942, at Rocky Point, Oklahoma, to Joe Cephus Lollis and Lucy O’Steen. Peggy was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church of Ardmore for 45 years. She loved gardening and felt close to the Lord while taking care of her flowers. Peggy grew up in Madill, Okla., and graduated from Madill High School in 1960. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University and Murray State College. She retired from the Oklahoma State Department of Education after 21 years of service. She is preceded in death by husband, Harold Copeland; her daughter’s father, James Landt; her parents, Joe Cephas and Lucy, brother, Aubrey Joe Lollis; sisters Letha Purser and LaTrelle Lambert; nephews Joe Frank Potts and Rodney Purser; nieces Karla Jackson and Glenda Kay Smith; half-sister Helen Dickerson. She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Wallace and husband Mike of Cleburne, Texas; Granddaughter, Emily Wallace of Lone Grove, OK; Grandson, Christian Wallace and fiancé Addie Fore of Ardmore, OK; Great-grandson, Creede Aulds; Sister-in-law, Cyrilla Lollis; Nephews, Randy Purser, Kurt Lollis, and wife Tammy; step-daughters Cheryl Stepp and Vanessa Denney and numerous grandchildren. Those serving as pallbearers will be Christian Wallace, Michael Wallace, Brandon Deck, Mike Smiley, Bill Owen and Blane Fore.
