Obituary of Raymond L. Douthit

Raymond L. Douthit, age 74, met with the Lord on January 5, 2022 in Ardmore, Okla. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 31, 2022, at CrystalRock Cathedral with The Reverend Walt Spradling officiating. Services are under the direction of the church. Raymond was earlier interred in Provence Cemetery. Raymond was born in Phoenix, Arizona, August 19, 1947 to Herman and Ona Fay Douthit. He attended Dickson High School and graduated with the class of 1965. He then enlisted in the Air Force to serve his country. Ray was in the Air Force in Condon, Oregon when he met his bride to be, Esther Covert, and was married Feb 11, 1967. After Ray was discharged from the military, they moved around a bit until finally settling down in Ardmore, Okla., where they raised their family. Ray was an active guy, he enjoyed all sorts of sports like bowling, softball, and golf. He also enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with his son and brother. He had a creative side, from painting, and doing woodwork and he made things inside his home and for others in his family. Ray attended CrystalRock Cathedral and enjoyed helping Esther with Children's Church every Sunday. Preceded in death, are his parents Herman Sr. and Ona Fay; and Brother, James Douthit. Those left to cherish his memory, are wife, Esther Douthit of the home; three sons, Ray Jr. and wife Ronda, children Zachary, Kaylee, and Aliya; Roger Sr. and wife Brandie, children Roger Jr., Roddy, and Carter Herring; Rusty and wife Cheba, children Heaven and husband Steven Betts, Vaden and Graycie; Brother, Skip Douthit, sister, Mary Hawthorne, and sister-in-law, Joy Douthit, and many nieces and nephews.
