Obituary of Royce (Moon Man) Day

Royce (Moon Man) Day, age 51, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be 2:00pm, Friday, January 21, 2022, at McAlister Cemetery with The Reverend Steve Skinner officiating. Royce was born in Ardmore, Okla. on July 14, 1970, to Royce Nathaniel Day, Sr. and Jo Ann (Marris) Day. He attended Dickson Schools. Royce started his career early in the concrete finishing business and has worked all over the Carter County area. He received his third belt through the Chickasaw Nation in Taekwondo. Royce was an outdoor man; loved working in his yard, and he enjoyed to go fishing when he could. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dino Marris, two sisters, Latisha Gibson and Gwendalyn (Day) Garcia. Royce is survived by his wife, Tammy Day, nine children; Dillon Day, Mercedes Day Petty and husband, Kenneth, Jacob Royce Day and significant other, Amber Allen, Jeremiah Day and wife, Ale, Naomi Day, Sequoyah Day, and Tecumseh Day, Brittany Powell and husband Taylor, Talia Marris. Bonus son Todd Sampson. eight grandchildren, two sisters, Yolanda Thompson, and Bonnie Jo Day, special niece, Sonya Gibson and nephew, Lee Gibson. Mother of his children, Mary June Day. Casket bearers will be his sons and close friends. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, January 20, 2022, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
