Obituary of Thomas “Kenneth” Cook

Thomas “Kenneth” Cook, age 68, passed away on January 2, 2022, in Ardmore, Okla. at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Donny Custar officiating. Private interment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Kenneth was born on January 17, 1953, to Thomas O. Cook and Regenia (Roberts) Cook in Wilson, Okla. He attended Jefferson Elementary School, Ardmore Middle and High School and then graduated from Plainview High School with the class of 1972. He went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he majored in business management. Kenneth married Dana Alexander on July 21, 1973. He worked for Star Automotive, Billingsley Ford, Stroman Motors, and Green Light Automotive, Inc. Kenneth retired from The Noble Research Institute where he worked in fleet maintenance. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was a deacon and bus driver. Kenneth loved to ski, fish and camp at the lake with his family. He loved sports and would spend time watching his favorite teams. He spent his Saturday mornings, washing and servicing his wife and daughters’ cars. Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors working in his yard and cooking for his family. He would spend his time playing with his grandson, Carter, whenever he could. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters; Eloise (Cook) Davis and Barbara (Cook) Pigg. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dana (Alexander) Cook; daughter, Emily (Cook) Saunders and husband Aaron; six grandchildren, Carter Dodge, Stormie Saunders, Haley Saunders, Blane Saunders, Zack Saunders and Chloe Saunders; brother-in-law, Denny Alexander and wife Sandra Alexander; nephews, Bob Alexander and Andy Alexander, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 120 Veterans Blvd, Ardmore, OK 73401.
