Obituary of Joseph “JoJo” Hawk Carney

Joseph “JoJo” Hawk Carney, age 27, passed away on December 11, 2021, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 18, 2021 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with cremation to follow under the care of Hillcrest Crematory. JoJo was born on September 24, 1994, to Thurman Carney and Linda Underwood in Ada, Okla. He attended and graduated from Plainview High School with the class of 2013. After high school he took a position with Lumber Man’s Mill Work as a door builder. He then went to work for Chickasaw Nation as security at Gold Mountain Casino and for the past year for Human Technology Inc. as a V-Maxx servicer for Tire Building where his coworkers were his many friends. JoJo loved WWE Wrestling and would love having matches with his cousins on the trampoline. He was an avid gamer playing Call of Duty, War Zone, Rebirth Island with his friends and listening to music. JoJo has always loved collecting graphic design stickers and enjoyed his time with his son who was the love of his life. He will be remembered as a jokester and loved to make people laugh. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Sampson Underwood Jr., grandma, Era Mae Carney, uncles, Melvin "Gube" Underwood, Cecil Carney, Charles “Sonny” Tyson, and Curt Carney. JoJo is survived by his son, Jasper Clark Carney, mother, Linda Underwood Anderson and husband, Michael, father, Thurman Carney, sister, Raven Carney, brother, Lennon Carney, uncles, Dustin Couch, Todd Couch, Buck Underwood, Calvin Carney, and Richard Carney; aunts, Angie Carney, Sheila Al Fatal, Nora Lampkin, Serena Underwood, Patricia Carney and Gloria Carney, and grandma, Mary Susan Underwood, great uncle, Thedo Underwood and wife, Carolyn Miller and numerous cousins. The mother of his son, Jordan Faith Perez, her father, Tim and his wife, Amanda Perez; her mother, Amy (Harris) Elbert and paternal great-grandmothers, Teresa (Flores) and Santoz Perez, and a host of family and friends. A visitation will be Friday, December 17, 2021, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
