Alice Lawler, 98, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016, in Dallas, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla. Alice was born on March 6, 1918, in Mount Sterling, Illinois, to Doran and Opal (Briggs) Lanier. She was a resident of Ardmore for many years and later moved to Vernon, Texas, and then Oklahoma City with her husband, Wayne De Lyle Lawler, who was in the banking business. While in Ardmore, they were members of the First United Methodist Church. Wayne preceded her in death in 2003. They were married for 63 years. Alice moved to Dallas, Texas in 2003, along with her twin sister, Inez Bowman, who preceded her in death in 2014. Survivors include a son, Wayne De Lawler, Jr. and wife, Karen, of Dallas; a daughter, Jane Anne Roe and husband, Harvie, of Tulsa; five granddaughters: Lisken Kastalanych and husband, Randy, and their daughters, Kaitlyn and Keira, of Plano, Texas; Lindsay Frawley and husband, Seamus, of Nashville, Tennessee; Mindy Galoob and husband, Stephen, and their sons, Sam and Isaac, of Tulsa; Blair Roe of Oakland, Calif., and Holly Anne Sturdivan and husband, Matt, of Milwaukie, Ore. Her family will receive guests prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
