Corey Pickens, age 40, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Okla., from health complications. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 12, 2021, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest. Interment to follow in Clearview Cemetery. The family requests that masks be worn at the service. Corey was born on January 30, 1981, Ardmore, Okla. to Horace “Bo” Pickens and Lee Ann (McGee) Davis. He graduated from Ardmore High School. While in school, he played for the football team as the offensive and defensive tackle. He participated in Wrestling, Track, Choir and organized the first stomp team. After high school, Corey went to The University of Central Oklahoma. He was employed at security options in Oklahoma City for many years and then went to work at Cox Cable for 3 years. He was a private Chef and owner of Lee Ann’s soul food. Corey enjoyed to travel, go to the casino, and cook. He loved his fur babies and family gatherings. Corey will be remembered for his laughter, singing and willingness to speak his mind. He was forward thinking, ambitious, determined to see his projects through and protective of all. He was preceded in death by his father, Horace “Bo” Pickens, grandma, Helen H. McGee, grandma, Erriah Godwin, grandpa, Clint Douglas, grandpa, Floyd McGee, great-grandma, Ellen Williams, aunt, Virginia D. Washington, two cousins, Lawrence McGee Jr. and Kashka McGee. Corey is survived by his mother, Lee Ann Davis, and husband, Dewayne, brother, Josh McGee, and wife, Tiffany, sister, Helen DeJear and husband, Richard, sister, Ayanna Warren, brother, Walter Pickens, and wife, Sonya, nieces, Makayla McGee, Miyah McGee, Kyra Pickens and Kamille McGee, nephews, Zayne Pickens, Jayden DeJear, Julien DeJear, and Jaequan Warren, partner, Jarel Brown, his son, Tyray Brown and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Bonus family; Erika McGee, Tasha Stevenson, Emily Kittrell, and The Davenport Family. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, November, 11, 2021, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home.
