Mary Lou Duran, age 77, passed away after a long courageous battle with diabetes, on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Dallas, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, September 30, 2021 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with interment to follow in McAlister Cemetery. Mary was born on January 7, 1944 to John Padilla and Sylvania (Shoemaker) Padilla at Overbrook, Okla. She attended William B. Travis Elementary in Dallas, Texas. In her youth, Mary loved to dance, and have a good time. Mary worked for 30 years as an inspector in the semiconductor industry. At the age of 63, she retired and found her serenity in the word of the Lord and her belief. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Dolores Faye Rodriquez and Sylvia Ann Cantu. Mary is survived by her son, Steve Padilla and wife, Julia, and John Anthony Duran and wife, Juliana, the light of her world were her four grandchildren; Maya Renee Padilla, John Duran, Jr., Julian Duran, and Joey Duran, sisters: Lavera Jean Marquez, Rebecca Saucedo, and Antonia Susie Maldonado and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.griffinhillcrest.com.
