Obituary of Lewie Anthony O’Neal

Lewie Anthony O’Neal, passed away at the age of 73, on Thursday, August 12, 2021, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Lewie will be honored during a private visitation with family and friends. Cremation under the direction of Hillcrest Crematory. Lewie was born on December 23, 1947 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Leta Murl (Wells) O’Neal and Troy Ernest O’Neal. After growing up and graduating high school in Sulphur, Lewie honorably served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a skilled welder by trade. As an avid horseracing enthusiast, Lewie owned and helped train numerous racehorses. He was extremely proud of his two children Ryan and Jennifer whom he shares with Rita Lansford. Those who knew him know he had a zest for life, a great sense of humor, and a million dollar smile. Lewie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Troy “Dink” O’Neal. Lewie leaves behind his two children Ryan O’Neal and Jennifer (O’Neal) Wessmiller; a son-in-law, Jeff Wessmiller; and his seven-year-old grandson Ryker Wessmiller. He will also be greatly missed by his dear friend Brenda O’Neal who was by his side until the end. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to ASPCA, Animal Welfare Institute, or other reputable animal charities in honor of Lewie’s love for all animals.
