Obituary of Evelyn Rose Miller

Evelyn Rose Miller was reunited with her heavenly family on July 13, 2021 at the age of 77. She passed away at home surrounded by all of her children and grandchildren after a very short battle with Cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday, July 17.2021 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with The Reverend Vincent Baptiste to officiate. Interment will follow in McAlister Cemetery Overbrook, Okla. She was born December 29, 1943 in Overbrook, OK. Angels awaiting her arrival, Mother Lula (Marris) Parker, Brothers Dolph Baptiste and Kenneth Baptiste, Grandparents Arch and Sallie (Farve) Marris. Evelyn graduated from Plainview High School in 1962. She resided in Boston, MA, San Jose, CA, Shiprock, NM before making Lone Grove, OK her permanent home. She worked as a CNA for many years, then for the Chickasaw Nation Sr. Site. She was a member of the McAlister Baptist Church. Left to cherish her Memory is her Children: Angela (Clarence) Snyder, Anchorage, AK, Alden Williams, Phoenix, AZ, Aaron Williams and Shay (Angela) Miller of Lone Grove, OK, Shauana (Phillip) Hartman, Marietta, OK. Lovingly referred to as "Meme" by her adored GrandChildren: Slade Kendrick, Arianna Williams, Easton & Weston Miller, Timberly & Stryker Hartman, Payton White. Being a Meme is what made her the happiest. A precious Aunt, Allie Johnson, Special Cousin, Uwannah Watts, Dear Friend, Debbie (Farve) Duran, Sister-in-Law, Betty Baptiste, Sister, Yvonne Vansill, numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. There are so many things that her family will miss, including her elaborate holiday meals and family get togethers; her intense love for her grandbabies, cheering on her 49ers & OU teams, and just being the anchor to our family. Visitation will be form 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, July 16, 2021 at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Alden Williams, Aaron Williams, Shay Miller, Clarence Snyder, Phillip Hartman, Slade Kendrick, Easton Miller, and Weston Miller. Honorary Pallbearers: Arianna Williams, Stryker Hartman, Arlie Kent Marris, and Kevin Hodgson.
