Obituary of Tammy Marris

Tammy Gail Marris, age 58, passed away on June 13, 2021, in Denton, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:30am Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Pastor Ron Fleming officiating. Interment to follow in McAlister Cemetery in Overbrook, Okla.
Tammy was born on November 10, 1962 to Leonard Marris and Florene (Jefferson) Marris, in Lawton, Okla. She attended Plainview High School and then graduated from Marietta High School Class of 1982. Tammy went on to attend Murray State College and graduated with a Bachelors in Education. She took a position as a Pre-school Teacher for the Indian Boarding School and later as Administrative Assistant but was forced into an early retirement due to her health. Tammy enjoyed going to church singings and listening to southern gospel music. She enjoyed going to concerts and her favorite group was Gold City. Tammy was devoted to and loved caring for her great-nephew, Xavier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, brothers: Darrell Marris, Jonathon Marris, Harry Marris, Roger Marris, and Lani Marris and sisters, Priscilla Nan Marris and Lisa Christine Marris and her fur-baby Lula
Tammy is survived by seven siblings, Arlie Marris and wife, Jackie, Tony Marris, Phil Marris and wife, Mary, Wendell Marris and wife, Lawanda, Kendall Marris and wife, Cassandra, Stefanie Brown and husband, Edward Jr., and Latitsha Royal and fur-babies Boomer and Sadie of the home as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in the Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Those serving as pallbearers will be her brothers and nephews.
