Dorothy Mae (Thompson) Cole, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home. Entombment to follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum, Ardmore, Okla. Dorothy was born on December 13, 1927, to William Dewey Thompson and Sarah Lou (Parks) Thompson, at Pauls Valley, Okla. She attended Elmore City schools and moved to California in the 1950s. Dorothy married Marvin Olen Cole on July 23, 1970, at Santa Paula, Calif. The couple worked together on their lemon and avocado Ranch. Moving back to the Ardmore area in1988, they raised quarter horses for cutting and Schnauzer, Maltese, and Yorkies, all pedigree dogs, and ostriches. The couple most recently began raising game fowl. Dorothy loved working in her yard with her flowers and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and five brothers. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Marvin Olen Cole, four children: Bobby Gene Loyd, Della Lipking, Dewey George Wilson, and Nena Lorraine Rueger, five step-children: Marvin Olen Cole, Jr., Kathlyn Joanne Brown, Michael Lynn Cole, Marlin Glen Cole, and Martin Russell Cole, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
