Obituary of Orpha Jo Daniel

Orpha Jo Daniel, age 91, passed away on May 25, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at McAlister Cemetery with Minister Cougan Collins officiating. Jo was born in the Love County, Okla., area on September 23, 1929, to Joseph Calvin Cambron and Orpha (Wilcoxson) Cambron. Jo attended and graduated from Greenville Schools. She married Silas Monroe Daniel on May 1, 1948. The couple owned a store in Greenville for a time and then sold it. They moved to Norman, Okla., while Silas attended college. Jo worked many jobs to help support them. The couple moved to Stillwater where Silas taught at OSU. The couple moved to Ponca City and Jo worked for Howard’s Discount, Gibson’s, and then for Titus Manufacturing as a welder until her retirement. She loved quilts and will be remembered for her many quilts. Jo enjoyed reading and was a Bible scholar. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and ten siblings. Jo is survived by her daughter, Paula Lewis Lynn, and husband, Henry, sons: Stephen Mark Daniel, and wife, Nelda, of Moore, Okla., and Robert Daniel of Kaw City, Okla. Two grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
