Obituary of Wilma Dickerson

Wilma June Anderson Dickerson, age 77, passed away on February 2, 2021 in Tishomingo, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, February 8, 2021, at Cheek Cemetery in Lone Grove, Okla., with Pastor Ronnie Carroll officiating. Wilma was born on June 19, 1943 to Andrew J. Chappell II and Ruth P. (Madole) Chappell, in Oklahoma City, Okla. She married GV Anderson in 1962 and from this marriage came her two children, Vicki and Gary, that marriage ended in 1987. In 1966, she attended nursing school and became an LPN starting her career at Mercy Memorial Hospital and working at various nursing homes in the area including Southbrook Nursing Home for years. Wilma found her passion in hospice care and worked until her retirement in 2010. She married Dolphus E. Dickerson in Falls City, Oregon, on September 16, 1989. She is a member of Christ Tabernacle Church. She loved to read and devoted her time and energy into her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, GV Anderson, second husband, Dolphus E. Dickerson, grandson, Christopher Cryer, brothers, Donald Chappell and Andrew Chappell III. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Vicki Cryer, son, Gary Anderson, grandchildren, Veronica Nelson, and husband, Chris Nelson, Cassandra Cryer, Michelle Cryer, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and one on the way in march. One sister, Barbara Bondurant and husband, Ken of Denver. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
