Obituary of Cary Gale Key

Cary Gale Key, age 74, passed away on May 16, 2016, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, May 20, 2016, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Sister Waters officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Cary was born on December 31, 1941, to Bill Key and Frances I. (Pugh) Key, in Garden Grove, California. He attended Plainview Schools and enlisted in 1960 in the United States Air Force. Cary was honorably discharged in September of 1964 and was rated as an expert marksman. After his discharge, he married Miss Jewel Dean Dill in March of 1961 in Gainesville, Texas. The couple moved to Ardmore, Okla., and Cary worked at Kerby’s Station, at Stromberg-Carlson for fifteen years, and at Southwest Electric for twenty-six years. When it closed in 2000, he took his retirement. Cary was an avid hunter and liked fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cary is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jewel Dean Key, three children: Bobbie Swinney, Billie Gray, and Nina Bruce, nine grandchildren: Jeremy Key, Robbie Peters, Heather Peters, Sunshine Stone, Summer Stone, Winter Stone, Carri Key, Kenny Bruce II, and Kylie Freeman, fourteen great-grandchildren: Natalie Smith, Logan Shepard, Braiden Shepard, Austen McQueen, Jaden Peters, Colby Bruce, Landon Bruce, Arabella Bruce, Kenlee Bruce, Kayson Bruce, Haylee, Holden, James and a Bruce baby boy on the way, sister, Diane Key, nephew, Eugene Oryall and niece, Karen Coffey.
Pallbearers will be Robert Savage, J.R. Freeman, Rodney Parker, Roger Cox, Marty Swinney,and Allen Swinney
A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, May 19, 2016, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at Griffin~Hillcrest.
