Jerry Delores Tinder passed away on Friday, May 1, 2020, at Ardmore, Okla. Private services to be held at a later date. Viewing will take place from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm, Monday, May 4, 2020, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home of Ardmore.
Jerry was born on December 31, 1941, at Baum, Oklahoma, to R. B. Cavner and Ada Faye (Tynes) Cavner. She attended Dickson Schools and married Norwood Tinder on April 28, 1960, at Fort Smith, Arkansas. The couple moved to Ardmore and began raising their family. Jerry enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. In 1967, they moved to Mannsville, Okla., and she opened a home daycare. She ran the daycare for over 34 years until having heart surgery in 1999. In 2011, Norwood and Jerry moved back to Ardmore. After eight years there, they moved to Dickson. Jerry was a longtime member of Mannsville Assembly of God. She loved to go fishing with her husband and enjoyed just getting out and seeing people. She was a lover of animals, especially birds, cats, and dogs. Even when living in the nursing home, Jerry would ask about her dog Penny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R.B. and Ada Cavner, infant son, Gerald Edward Tinder, son, Allen Tinder, and sister, Ellen McCabe
Survived by her husband of 60 years, Norwood Tinder, of the home, daughters: Deborah Huckabaa and husband, Jeffrey, of Dickson, granddaughter, Sara Moeller and husband, Baylee Fels, of Ardmore, and great-grandchildren: Zayden, Landon, and Rylee. Sister, June Elisee of Dickson, and brothers: Ronald Cavner and wife, Edna, of Dickson, Larry Cavner of Dickson, and Dwight Cavner and wife, Mary Beth, of Ardmore.
