Obituary of Wendell Dean Green

Wendell Dean Green, age 55, passed away on January 18, 2020, in Muskogee, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church in Milo, Okla. Interment to follow in Clearview Cemetery. Wendell was born on September 1, 1964 in Ardmore, Okla. to the late Arce Lee Green and Norvell Green. He was the fourth of eleven children known to most as the "Stomper". At an early age he became a member of Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, while attending various churches during his tour of duty. His favorite scripture being Psalm 23. Wendell was a proud member of the graduating class of 1982 (Bearcats proud) Graham High School, Vocational Technical School for mechanics in 1982, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and received an associate degree from the University of Maryland. Wendell enlisted into the United States Air Force on November 21, 1991 - November 1, 2015, serving our country for 24 years retiring with Master Sergeant (MSgt) honors, having 11 deployments as a Civil Engineer and 6 tours with his family to Shaw AFB, SC, Spangdahlem AB, Germany, Whiteman AFB, MO, Kadena AB, Japan, Cannon AFB, NM, RAF Alconbury, United Kingdom to finally retire to Moore, Okla. Wendell's hobbies included any OU sporting event, fishing, golfing, playing and refereeing basketball, softball, flag football, coin toss, and his music. In 1984, he met his helpmate Darlene and were married February 5, 1987. February 2020 would have been their 33rd anniversary. Wendell is preceded in death by his father, Arce Lee, brother, Alan Dale, and nephew, Marquis Garcia. Wendell leaves to cherish his memories: his dedicated wife, Darlene; two daughters: Jomokenyata Osborne (fiancé Chris) of Moore, Jiya Moughton (William) of Buckley AFB, CO; one goddaughter: Skylar Whitaker, of Andrews, AFB, MD; mother, Norvell Green of Lone Grove; three sisters: Regina Franklin of Ardmore, Ramona Green of Lone Grove, Christy Green of Ardmore; six brothers: Reginal Green of Dallas, TX, Randal Green of Lone Grove, Marvin Green of Ardmore, Darnell Green of Ardmore, Corey Green of Ardmore, and Casey Green of Lone Grove. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, January 24, 2020, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home.
