Obituary of Nancy Jean Walker

Nancy Jean Walker, 83, of Ardmore, Okla., went to Heaven on September 22, 2019 in Struthers, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2019, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Dr. Dan Patman of First United Methodist officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Nancy was born on February 8, 1936, to William and Velma Straughn in Ardmore, Okla. She went to High School in Ardmore, Okla. Nancy was a housewife most of her life. She worked for Putman Oil for a short period of time. She married Wayland Walker in December of 1980. They loved to take their travel trailer and tour the country. She loved going on cruises with her daughter and son-in-law. She loved to go with Rod her son to the Nascar races. She always was asking her other son Gary where he was headed for his next trip. Nancy loved her children and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She never missed a special occasion with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayland Walker, her mother, Velma Boyd, and father, William Straughn.

Nancy is survived by two sons: Gary Mills, and wife, Vicki, of Ardmore, Okla., and Rod Mills, of Struthers, OH., daughter: Lisa Mullis, and husband, Bill, of Hickory Creek, TX. Five grandchildren: Geoff Mills, Kelli Larue, Walt Mills, Blaine Mills, Heath Tipton, and nine great-grandchildren, Greysen Mills, Kaylin Larue, Paxton Larue, Christian Mills, Karissa Mills, River Mills, Sailor Mills, Ryder Mills, and Gavin Tipton

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: Walt Mills, Blaine Mills, Geoff Mills, Heath Tipton and Robin Porter.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening, September 27, 2019, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
