Obituary of Jo Ann Campbell

Jo Ann Campbell, age 85, passed away on November 21, 2018, in Ardmore, Okla. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 24, 2018, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with her Grandson Daniel Oyler officiating.

 

Jo Ann was born on November 13, 1933, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma, an old abandoned coal mining town in Eastern Oklahoma, during the depression days.  She is the daughter of Ethelyn (Bell) and Claude Leadford. Jo Ann married Bob P. Campbell on July 24, 1949 in Gainesville, TX.  Jo Ann worked at various jobs in her life mostly bookkeeping and her last job was with Craftco Builders Inc., as the administrative assistant. Her most accomplished job was being a mother and grandmother, caring for her family and giving advice. A ferocious reader, her last love was Western Romance.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob P. Campbell and sister, Ellen Leadford.

 

Jo Ann is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kay Campbell of Ardmore, three grandsons; Daniel S. Oyler of Ardmore, Okla., John Earl Scott and wife Frankie, of Kiefer, Okla. and Larry “Dusty” Scott, of Sapulpa, OK, sister, Linda, of California, four great-granddaughters , host of family and friends.
