Edward Gene Russell

Edward “Gene” Russell, age 58, passed away on October 24, 2016, at Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Friday, November 4, 2016, at The First Baptist Church of Dickson, Okla. with the Reverend John Hatfield to officiate. Services under the direction of the family and church. Cremation under the direction of Griffin ~ Hillcrest Crematory. Gene was the baby of seven children. He was born on December 28, 1957 to Jim Oscar Russell and Edith Violet (Guerin) Russell, at Ardmore, Okla. He attended and graduated from the Dickson High School, Bi-Centennial Class of 1976. Gene worked for Uniroyal Tire Company for seventeen years. He then went to work for Elliott’s Trailer Company in Madill, Okla. He always enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing and hunting with his brother Danny. Gene loved his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Donald Russell and Jerry Russell, and three sisters: Jimmie Carstarphen, Nita Jo Burkhart and Rhonda Sue McMillian. Edward is survived by his brother: Danny Russell and wife, Shirlene of Ardmore, Okla., nephews; Josey James Russell, Jimmy Ray Russell and Raymond Wayne Watterson, the loves of his life, great nephew, Denver James Russell and one niece, Destiny Rena Russell. Honorary bearers will be David Harnsberger, Mike Holley, Tony Stewart, Bobby Holley, Andrew Buchanan and Joe Holley
