Obituary of Michael Douglass Pettigrew

Michael Douglass Pettigrew passed away at the age of 60 at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Lone Grove, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, June 29, 2018, at Pleasant Oak Cemetery, Enville, Okla., with Pastor Steven Skinner officiating.

Michael was born on November 15, 1957, to William Pettigrew and Emma (Nelson) Pettigrew at Talihina, Okla. He attended Madill High School and he went to work for McCoy Tree Services. Michael’s passion was being a musician and he played drums in many of the local bands. He married his childhood sweetheart, Roxanne Ingram, on November 12, 1991, at Enville, Okla. Michael loved spending his time shopping at the local Goodwill and was an avid garage sale shopper.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Pettigrew, sister, Betty Jean Woods, brother, Thomas Pettigrew, paternal grandparents, Dan and Tennie Pettigew, and maternal grandparents, Isaac and Minnie Nelson.

Michael is survived by his wife, Roxanne, of the home; mother, Emma Rae Pettigrew, Ardmore, Okla. Four brothers: Russell Strayhorn and wife Lorenda, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Robert Pettigrew and wife Bonnie, Kingston, Okla., Darrell Pettigrew, Sr., Kingston, Okla., and Joe Pettigrew and wife, Stacey, Lone Grove, Okla., three sisters: Denise Taylor and husband, Larry, Ardmore, Okla., Darlene Mason and husband, Steve, Norman, Okla., and Diane Martinez and husband, Marcelino, Norman, Okla. Nineteen Nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Terry Ingram, Robert Ingram, Jr., JR Pettigrew, Brandon Pettigrew, Zakk Pettigrew, and Dustin Brokeshoulder.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, June 28, 2018, at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla.
