Obituary of Steven Ray Davis

Steven Ray “Sonny” Davis passed away at the age of 43 on Monday, June 18, 2018, at his home in Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Nelda Cemetery with Rev. Steve Wall officiating.

Steven was born to Edmund Junior Davis and Lenora (James) Davis on January 12, 1975, in Lawton, Okla. He was a graduate of Dickson High School, Class of 1993. He took a position with Sunshine Industry’s and later at Dornick Hills as a dish washer. He enjoyed watching and supporting OU Football, watching movies he got from the library, and playing his video games. He loved babysitting his nieces and nephews. Steven will be remembered for his knack of telling great ghost stories.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, Lenora James, uncles: Dennis James, Dennis Baptiste, Ricky Davis, and Randy Davis.

Steven is survived by his father, Edmund Junior Davis of the home; two sisters: Gina Davis and Lori Davis, both of Ardmore; two half-sisters: Michele Davis of Oklahoma City and Anisa Hale of McCloud. Sixteen nieces and nephews. Great aunt Lucille Wallace of Dickson; two aunts: Marilyn Cooper of Ardmore and Mamie Ashby and husband, Neal, of Ardmore. Uncles: Mond Davis and wife, Kathy, of Ardmore, Glenn Davis and wife, Lois, of Durant, Claude Davis of Ardmore, Glen James, Mark James, and Patrick James and wife, Lynne, all of Ardmore. A host of cousins, family, and friends.

Pallbearers will be; Patrick James, Mond Davis, Glen James, Mark James, Steven Mose, and James Carnes.

A wake service will be held on Wednesday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin~Hillcrest, Ardmore, Okla.
