Obituary of Paula Sue Bumpass

Paula Sue Bumpass, age 61 and resident of Dickson, Okla., passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Oklahoma City, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest with Pastor Jody Ham officiating. Interment to follow in Provence Cemetery, Ardmore.

Paula was born to James T. Jack and Ruthie (Smith) Jack on October 24, 1956, at Ardmore, Okla. She attended Washington Elementary School in Ardmore through the fourth grade. After her father, James, passed away, the family moved to Dickson and attended school there. She graduated with the Dickson High School, Class of 1974, before attending Murray State College in Tishomingo, Okla. She attended Southern Oklahoma Technology Center in Ardmore and earned her Certificate in Phlebotomy. She retired from Chickasaw Nation as a Chickasaw Health Representative. Paula and David Bumpass married on October 17, 1992, at Madill, Okla. She attended the Assembly of God Church and was a Sunday School teacher and a leader in Ladies Group. She enjoyed sewing, making jewelry, and cooking for her family. Paula loved spending time with her family, and especially enjoyed outdoor activities and camping with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, James Leon Jack.

Paula is survived by her husband, David Bumpass, of the home. Son, Matthew Bumpass and wife, Karli, and daughter, Amber Melton and husband, Jake. Grandchildren: Oakley Bumpass, Stella Bumpass, Jaxson Melton, and Jude Melton, Sisters: Kathy Jack and Stephanie Perryman and husband, Clarence, Nieces: LaCrysha Hillis and MaKenzie Perryman. Great-niece, Baylie Hughes and great-nephew, Nathan Hughes.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eric Blankenship, Billy Blankenship, Ronnie Bumpass, Jeffery Blankenship, James Hill, and Kerry Jones.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
