Obituary of Hope Rose Ferrall

Hope Rose Ferrall, age 86, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with Dr. William Black officiating. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore.

Hope was born on March 15, 1932, in Galena, Okla., to James T. Rose and Mabel (Rogers) Rose. She attended Aline High School and married William ” Bill” Richard Ferrall on May 27, 1950, in Alva, Okla. She worked as a professional seamstress for many factories in the state before earning her degree at Enid Beauty College and opened Hope’s Beauty Shop. For a short time, she returned to her work as a seamstress. After she retired from the beauty and sewing industries, she took a position as a cook at Springer Schools. Hope will be remembered by many of the students she served as a loving and caring lady. She loved to fish when given the chance. She found great joy in country and western dancing. In fact, she attended her last dance just a week ago. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and any form of arts and crafts. Hope moved from Springer to the Ardmore Village and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William, in 1999. Hope was also preceded by her companion and dance partner, Ervin Wright, and seven brothers: Mart, Everett, Carl, Charlie, Buster, Donald, and Richard.

Hope is survived by her sons: Ronnie Ferrall and wife, Kristy, of Duncan, Okla., and Billy Ferrall and wife, Janice, of Cleo Springs, Okla. Daughters: Debrah Ferrall, of Mountain Home, Ark., and Lana Minor and husband, Wayne, of Mount Pleasant, Texas. Eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, brother, Roger Rose, and five sisters: Corine Ross, Lavina Rich, Dorothy Young, Rosalie Hatfield, and Betty Bowman. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Ross, Mark Ross, Chris Ferrall, Brian Woods, Ryan Poeling, Johnathan Rhoads, and Jason Baggett.
