Obituary of Dale Keith Genn
Dale Keith Genn, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Madill, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Woodford Cemetery in Woodford, Okla., with Pastor David Colaw officiating.
Dale was born on October 15, 1938, at Springer, Okla. to George Lester Genn and Dora Ethel (Romine) Genn. He attended Springer Schools. Dale married Mary Jane Eades on July 8, 1960, at Ardmore, Okla. He started working for Lucy Ranch as a hand. In 1960, Dale was drafted into the United States Army and served for three years until he was injured in Germany and received an Honorable Discharge in 1963. He returned home to Springer and took a position on the Brady Ranch as a hand until 1966 when he began a 35year career working for Big Chief Roofing, which later changed to Georgia-Pacific and Atlas Roofing Company prior to his retirement. Dale was a volunteer for Springer Fire Department for nineteen years and received his retirement in 2017. He was an avid hunter and would hunt almost anything. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and would hunt for arrowheads. A giver to his community, he would often spend his personal time to mow lawns and care for the widows of the Springer Community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, Renay Genn, two sisters: Alma Lois Batista and Ruby Faye Marshall, one brother, George Henry Genn, and niece, Jo Leslie Rohrer.
Dale is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Genn, of the home, one brother, Carroll Joe Genn and wife, Mary Ann, of Madill, Okla. Nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
