Obituary of Reba Jo Rueda

Reba Jo Rueda passed away at her home in Sherman, Texas, on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the age 57. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Mannsville Cemetery with Pastor Joshua Norton officiating.
Reba was born in Kingfisher, Okla., on January 29, 1959, to Robert Edwin Hunt and Joyce Ann (Behrens) Hunt. She attended Springer School and later graduated from Turner High School in the Class of 1977. Reba married Jose Gomez Rueda on November 20, 1994, in Gainesville, Texas. Reba worked at President Baking in Marietta, Okla., for over ten years as a floor supervisor until the plant closed. She then worked for Imtec in Ardmore, Okla., for ten years until they closed. Reba became a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. After Jose passed away in 2009, she moved to Sherman, Texas, in October 2014, to be with her companion, Brendan Varley. She was an avid quilter. Reba will be remembered for being a comedian, always pulling pranks on people. She loved taking her sister to the casino aka “The Office” where they enjoyed their time together. Reba loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband, Jose, brother, Raymond Brewer, two nieces, Kathy Howard and Joyce Marie Coleman, and nephew, Tony Joe Hunt.
Reba is survived by her son, J.D. Pitts, and wife, Cara, of Lone Grove, Okla., and daughter, Kim Smith, and husband, Rusty, of Marietta, Okla. Five grandchildren: Aiden Pitts, Dylan Prather, Raigan Prather, Natalie Smith, and Aliza Smith. Brother, Freddie Bearden, and wife, Mary, of Ardmore, and six sisters: Mahota Martin and husband, Fred, of Lone Grove, Elizabeth McGahey and husband Ray, of Madill, Okla., Sue Bates of Ardmore, Sharon Bates and husband, Rick, of Madill, Carol Steudeman of Ardmore, and Gayla Loyd and husband, James, of Wilson, Okla. A host of family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Simon, Jason Asbill, Alvin McGahey, Greg Crook, Jeremy Bates, and Danny Cryer. Reba’s grandchildren and nephews will serve as honorary bearers.
Family visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla.
