Ernestine Marie Staggs,76, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 24, 2018, in Ardmore, Okla. A private family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Marie was born on December 28, 1941, to Ernest Minyard and Madeline (Jackson) Minyard in Soper, Oklahoma, and attended Dickson Schools. She married Richard Robert Hunt in 1957, and from this union came one daughter, Kila. Marie was widowed early due to an auto accident. She married Donald Staggs on February 27, 1960, and from this union came four children: Donald Jr., Beverly, David, and Larry. Marie worked for many years as kitchen staff for nursing homes in Ardmore. She loved to crochet and read her historical romance books. She loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her Father, two husbands, one son, Donald Jr., and one sister, Dorothy. Marie is survived by her mother, Madeline Minyard, four children: Kila Wilkinson and husband, Melvin, Beverly Wilkinson and husband, Rick, David Staggs and wife, Mary, all of Ardmore, and Larry Staggs of Wilson, Okla. Six grandchildren: Shaunna, Melvin III, Aundreau, Amber, Kiri, and Sabrina. Seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and nine siblings.
