Obituary of Betty Greenaway

Betty Greenaway, age 69, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016, at her home in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 10, 2016, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla. Betty was born on November 19, 1946, at Marietta, Okla., to Herchel Hughes and Voncille (Stuckey) Hughes. She was raised there and graduated from Marietta High School. She married Donald Ray Greenaway in 1968 at Ardmore, Okla. The couple moved to Hawaii, following his military career in the US Navy, and they later settled in San Diego, Calif. Don and Betty returned to Ardmore in 2005. Betty was a homemaker for most of her life and loved caring for her family. Betty enjoyed travelling and working in her flower garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Greenaway, in 2015. Betty is survived by two sons: Scotty Lynn Greenaway of San Diego, Calif. and Michael Chad Greenaway of San Diego, Calif., and one daughter, Christi Kay Greenaway, of Ardmore. Two grandchildren: Michael Greenaway and Scotty Greenaway, and their mother, Lisa Greenaway, all of Barberton, Ohio. Two sisters: Jean McMillian and husband, Roy, of Lone Grove, and Sherron Burkhart of Ardmore, and one brother, Randy Hughes, of Oklahoma City, Okla. A visitation will be held on Friday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
